Come and visit us this festive period and feel the warmth and magic of The Old Mill Gallery Christmas Fair. Artists and makers from across the country will be selling a beautiful variety of art and gifts across two floors of the gallery and out in to the sculpture garden studios.

There will be a pop up christmas card workshop with creator extraordinaire, Bill Barlow…an onsite cafe/ bar, stone baked pizzas and this year we are going for gold with our Christmas Decorations!

in celebration of Robin Chapman Campbell's new book.

'Creosophy, Why you exist' by eminent philosopher Dr. Walter Frostbight is an adventure in imaginative thinking.


An exploration of the mysteries of existence.
It describes itself as not fitting in to a literary genre but being 'eccentric; part philosophy,
part psychology, part religion and part self-help.'.

If you are curious to find out more, then come along to meet the editor Robin Chapman Campbell and get a glimpse at the illustrated novel.
Robin will give a short introduction to Creosophy and read passages from the book.

A fascinating glimpse of the Lindisfarne Gospels, a remarkable
surviving manuscript from the Golden Age of Northumbria.
This fully illustrated lecture concentrates on the art displayed
throughout the book, relating this to other manuscripts and
stone carvings of this period and considering the origins of
this decoration.

All lectures will be held at 6pm at The Old Mill Gallery, last 45 mins plus extra time for questions.

Join us for Precinct, a 'one off' reading group exploring urban matrixes and rural existence.

Artist and researcher Gwen Dupré leads a one off reading group based on her current research project on the human interaction and exchange with natural and urban environments. Participants will work through texts from various genres; with extracts from Octavia E. Butler, Ursula K. Le Guin and Alasdair Gray as well as non-fiction sources and pop culture references. The texts are provided in a take-home zine-style booklet and discuss themes of chaos and control in the city and means of escape. The session will encourage reflection on what it means to be a ‘citizen’ and to ‘belong’.

£10, £7 concession (optional lunch £5)

All materials provided and no preparation required.

Needle Felting Workshop with Kerry Thomas

One-day workshops, please book on either the Saturday or Sunday

In these workshops you will be making a picture using wools from a variety of sheep, including rare breeds, and other fibres such as silk tops, bamboo, banana, rose and cotton scrim, and complete the process by framing your picture so that it is ready to hang when you get home! You can bring pictures with you for inspiration or use the samples provided. An ideal workshop for beginners and people of all abilities.

All materials will be supplied, coffee and tea provided, please bring your own packed lunch.
